Judging by the images I think that all 56-competitors enjoyed our 2018-‘Open’ yesterday despite the extreme tropical conditions, and some last minute ‘no-shows’.

Before getting to the results, a word of thanks to all those that sponsored the event and/or donated raffle prizes, their contribution will certainly benefit our chosen charity come the end of the year.   Thanks also to:   Natali, Mark and the rest of the clubhouse team for looking after everyone so well:   Carol & Jan for their smooth running of the registration desk while also selling the all-important raffle tickets, and:   Ron Temple [or the ‘putting master’ as we should call him] for providing exactly the right welcome & start to the day – it’s very much appreciated one & all.

And finally, thanks to Richard for his stalwart efforts in putting the day together.   The organisation of the Open is one of the Vice-Captains responsibilities each year, and it can at times be a pretty thankless task.   Whether/not it’s a case of bad-memories fading with time he certainly appears to have had a much harder time than I did last year, particularly with players dropping out in the run-up to the event.   The good news Richard, is that it will be down to A.N.Other next year.
