Our numbers were depleted by the medal this week, meaning that just 21-players took advantage of the more temperate weather. Nevertheless the leading scores were ‘blistering’ in themselves as the results below will show, but firstly:
The BBQ ticket sales are going very well that should make for a very enjoyable evening, but we do have some left so if you have not ‘signed up’ please buy your tickets from the clubhouse. Also, while we are very grateful to those of you that have donated raffle prizes, what we are short of are a few ‘specials’ to provide the icing on the cake – if you have something a little different or upmarket that you can donate please let Richard or me know, it too would be very much appreciated.
Pro-shop Paul let me know yesterday that there are still a few of the branded shirts/jumpers that have yet to be collected. Having bent his ear on a regular basis to speed up the delivery, if you have yet to ‘take delivery’ would you please get your arse in gear – but remember, Paul will require payment on collection.
And now the all-important results: There was no BoB this week because of the medal, but with the cut-off being 22 this week, the electrifying results of the roll-up were:
Singles Stableford | ||||
Group | Position | Name | H’cap | Score |
1 | 1st | Peter Wheeler | 22.1 | 41 c/b |
1 | 2nd | Jim Cotton | 13.5 | 41 c/b |
1 | 3rd | |||
2 | 1st | John Ordish | 23.6 | 46 |
2 | 2nd | Arthur Strain | 25.7 | 45 |
2 | 3rd |
Next week it is the third round [proper] of the Casuals & Division 1 Cups, so a qualifier played of club handicaps – to compensate, at great expense we have arranged a sunny, warm day with light winds to ensure that you will still get plenty of run on the ball.
Results as usual will be available on the website https://carswellseniors.com in the blink of an eye [almost] but please note: Terry will be taking a well-deserved sabbatical in a darkened room from the 20th – 30th inclusive, and while all the usual pearls of wisdom will still be available on the website, if you need anything posted best get it to Terry PDQ.
Have a good one!
