Good to see a few more members coming out of festive hibernation on Tuesday, and before a couple of announcements below, the results you’ve all been waiting for:
Firstly, congratulations to Jerry Senior for getting the birdie on the 13th, hopefully he’ll ‘have one for us’ on Friday night!!! In the main competition, the results were as follows;
There was a little ‘controversy’ over the need to play a couple of “pairs”, although it’s worth noting that one of them was in a prize-winning position until the last card came in!!! Nevertheless Richard/I have come up with a solution that will avoid the situation arising in the current year, albeit it does mean that one or both of us [depending on numbers] will be the sacrificial lambs. Therefore if anyone has any worthwhile ideas on how to address the ‘disadvantage’ of playing as a pair in Yellow Ball, please let me have them.
Moving on, as those at the roll-up will know that Laurence has arranged the first Awayday of the new season, namely; 28th March 2018 at Bowood Golf Club. Price is £37 per player and includes: 18-holes of golf; coffee & bacon roll before golf, and; a meal after golf. A sign-up sheet is on the notice board, and to assist Laurence please confirm your interest ASAP
I have today received the final specification for club qualifiers from the men’s section. This is attached, and will also be stored on the website for future reference – the website address is of course: www.carswellseniors.com
Finally, the more discerning amongst you will have noticed the change of ‘subject’ above. This is because I’m hoping to issue the first monthly newsletter over the weekend that will provide a little more flesh on general topics, but will also aim to keep you better informed during this transition period at the club – I’m sure that you can hardly wait!!!!!
